Tri-M Induction - Week 44

I did not forget to post about this for two days... Sorry about that! I meant to do it on Monday but I got swamped with stress for three tests (which I think I did pretty well on) and I totally forgot about it! Anyways, starting with last week, Monday was the final day to rush for ILMEA and I think I got some decent recordings to submit. It is definitely feasible to make it into the district festival, but I am unsure about getting into state (I mean you shouldn't ever be sure you'll get into state for some things). Tuesday was less stressful since there wasn't any ILMEA I had to do and in general it was a pretty relaxed day.

Wednesday turned out to be a busy day since there was a lot to do after school. I had to go to the meeting for Science Olympiad and try to get most things sorted out for the club. After that was the Tri-M National Honors Society induction ceremony that I was required to go to. It turned out to be great since the guest speaker there was really nice and had some good stories. It was a great socializing experience as well and I'm really glad that I went! Thursday was also pretty musical, I got to see the Elgin Symphony Orchestra rehearsal before their concert. They performed the Enigma Variations by Elgar and Carnival Overture by Dvořák. The concert hall was 1 hour away, but I still think it was worth it as I learned a lot about the Enigma Variations and I can apply it to my own playing.

Friday was mostly relaxed, I don't recall anything important happening that day except taking a fat nap when I got home from school. This weekend was also pretty stale except the long weekend extending to Monday where I got to play at Aurora Country Club. It was amazing to be back there, especially as fall colors were starting to take over. They were doing some renovations with the bunkers as well so I can expect a fun Caddying season next summer as well!

Well, that's mostly it for the past week, I am making this post relatively shorter since it is actually the middle of the week and I still have a lot of work. There's been some progress made with college applications, but there is still 2-3 weeks to do everything, which seems like a lot, but it really isn't. Anyways, thanks for reading!
