One Year - Week 52
Oh boy, it's been a years worth of my life since I've started this. Over 2000 views total on this project on all time. This was almost the perfect week to end it off on since there's so much to talk about! At least, that's what it feels like to me, I know people also have way more hectic weeks! I never thought that this week would come, and I honestly forgot about this project and didn't want to continue it a couple times. But dedication is key (also having something for college apps...) and I persevered. Anyways, I'll get into the week!
Monday started off like usual, I had tests in AP Arti History and Macroeconomics and I did decent on both. None of them will hurt me too much and even raised it some. After that, I went to Math Team practice and learned about Diophantine Equations and Chinese Remainder Theorem for out third NSML competition. I realized that their way of doing it wasn't really my style and I found another way to do it based off of logic and lots of computations. I also restarted my private lessons to prepare for the Senior Concerto competition.
Tuesday was especially tiring. I started the day off by testing my Flight build which promptly broke after a few test runs. I had to wake up really early for that and it just foiled the different tests I wanted to do. I borrowed a microphone later in the day in order to get ready to record for Senior Concerto. It was rough starting because I'm not used to listening to myself and it sounded really bad but got better and better. This day was also the BPA non-judged events test day. I did the Fundamental Office and Intermediate Word Processing events. I think I did really well on Intermediate Word and I hope I can get into state with that. I am not as optimistic with Fundamental Office and maybe there is a chance I can do well in that as well if the test was as hard for everyone. I was really tired after this and I even slept 3 hours earlier than I usually did (to the surprise of my parents and friends).
Wednesday was also tiring. I started off the day with a Tri-M meeting with the rest of the board and the club to inform them about everything that they need to know before the year ends. After that, there was a crazy incident in AP Physics where we were let out more late than usual (we're usually a few minutes late), like over 10 minutes late. Everyone's teacher were a bit pissed about the situation and he eventually got a 5 minute warning bell as a punishment and to make sure he ends the period on time. Otherwise, the day went as usual during the school day except us getting new music in orchestra, Treemonisha and Satie. I then went home in order to rush to the post office to grab a package that arrived for me. It wasn't shipped to my house since I had to pay for it. I rushed to downtown Aurora to pick up the package, the office looked really run down and kind of creepy as well. I got a swiss army knife from the Morton Arboretum as a gift for my years of service. After that, I rushed to school to partake in the Science Olympiad meeting. I finished my Scrambler build and I had to transport all of my builds to my car since I had to transport them home. They were really heavy but I had a good friend help out and move my stuff to the car (which barely fit it).
Thursday wasn't as bad as the other days. There wasn't much going on before or during school besides an academic discussion. After school was a Math Team meeting where we faced off against a couple of other schools, most notably IMSA. I got 3/5 questions right, but I was super close and made a small mistake on one of them. We came second to IMSA during the competition so... expected, but still a bit disappointing. On an off note, it's kind of like my DAVIDsTEA order which still hasn't shipped from Black Friday. Anyways, it was fun and we made some progress in our division.
Friday was a rainy day, I took a few quizzes and tests, and I muscled through the day as best as possible. I printed out notes that I needed for Science Olympiad that I had been preparing for a few days prior. There were over 100 pages total so I did it in waves so no one would be suspicious of my maneuvers. I went to a movie event for Tri-M later that day and we watched the Polar Express on a nice projector in our auditorium with some hot chocolate. It was a really nice atmosphere and it helped me relax. I made one of my final drafts for my senior concerto recording and I was almost ready to turn it in, but I decided to do it again. We also got a dog to dogsit, her name is Sheeba and she is a black labrador. She made a really bad first impression on my parents and pooped in the house 30 minutes after she arrived, but has been pretty good since. She's much more well behaved and energetic than Sammy and Cosmo.
Saturday was a big day with Science Olympiad, I woke up extra early to walk Sheeba and have time to get there. I did a ritualistic McDonalds breakfast run with Mike as we went to Neuqua together. We took all my builds out and into the classroom and the day started. I started the day off strong with It's About Time, our build did really well compared to a lot of teams and we ended up taking 2nd in the competition. Next up was Scrambler which also went really well, it was bad at aiming but still got the right distance, we got 3rd. Next was Forestry which was ok, I made notes on stuff that wasn't on this test which is slightly infuriating, but they'll be added for next time, we came 4th. Flight was a train wreck and my momentum was gone. We took 9th and I just had really bad runs. The full results are here. Also, I finished my Senior Concerto that day, I did a better run and I used that instead (even though I was in my pajamas). It was kind of funny looking back since I was drifting off while playing.
Sunday was a chill day, just walking Sheeba and playing with her. She also got picked up today which was kinda of sad to see her go. I rested up and I'm hopefully ready to go for the finals prep week (not me writing this at 2:18am).
Anyways that's the overview of the week, I've also been keeping up with the World Cup as well. A lot of the matches were surprising. I thought that Brazil would make it through and Argentina would mess up. I also didn't predict Portugal losing, but I didn't think Ronaldo would be benched the first half as well. France making it through was a no brainer. I think that France will beat Morocco for sure and Croatia will win against Argentina. I definitely think that Argentina will mess up and make an opportunity with Croatia, France is too consistent to lose. That means there will be a France vs Croatia Finals rematch, and I'm rooting for France.
Anyways, that's it for this week. Happy Birthday to this project and I need to sleep urgently. I hope everyone has been doing good! Thanks for reading!
