Summer Break! - Week 36
I realize now that I skipped a week... that is my bad. In my defense I am soaking up all the summer heat and you guys get an extra special start of summer edition! I've tried to fill up every day of summer to do stuff and not regret it. So far I've entered a summer orchestra, played golf and badminton with friends, and made food with friends. I plan on doing more and I'm volunteering tomorrow. I have so much lined up this summer and I've already made a bit from caddying as well. I plan to go out and do stuff every day this week. Even though I have summer government classes, this is very worth it and I enjoy this freedom and just driving around. So far the summer hasn't been that hot but today and this week seem like I'm going to melt. I'm excited to make money this summer and I'm excited to meet up with friends more and enjoy life. I have most of June planned out but not much of July. I'm planning on renting out a theater for Thor Love and Thunder when it comes out. I will get a bunch of friends to come over and watch it and it will be great.
One of the most memorable moments was going out and making sushi with friends at my house. It was really fun because I usually do it with my sister and to change up roles and other people was interesting. We also ended up making s'mores in our new firepit in our backyard. I think that this summer is manageable but this will probably change when AP scores come out and everyone starts working on college applications. I am not very excited about that...
I've been playing golf with some friends with varying experience levels and it is really fun. I usually play very well when I'm having fun rather than in competitions and stressed out. But sometimes my concentration slips a bit too much and I end up playing badly because of that. I need to practice more but I have so much I want to do this summer. I will have to find the midpoint to be ready for the golf season and to have fun during summer. If I can find people to just practice with maybe it can go easier and I can do both at once.
I also found another store that is pretty neat. It is called Ollie's and it's near the fox valley mall. It sells items at highly discounted prices. If you wanted something but you just wanted to knock it down a dollar, it has it there. It was pretty amazing, there was a 50% off massage gun that I snatched up. they had arizona tea which I am thoroughly enjoying now and gatorade powder. I remember how it used to be a Toys-R-Us to a covid testing center to this. It's amazing how things changed.
Today I caddied at Stonebridge Country Club. It was a good course and I liked the people I caddied for. This caddies that were there were kind of rude and refused to collaborate with me. I think that I want to give them another chance because there is no way that all of them are like this. However, if this disrespect still occurs when I go again eventually, I will drop that course and never go back. It is simply not worth it since it is not a community I want to be a part in. Especially when I tried my best to care for their course to be treated like that.
Finally, the summer orchestra I am doing is mainly run by college students and it is really interesting. We are playing a piece composed by one of the people in our orchestra and it is so interesting. We are also playing some Mozart and the Ukraine State Anthem as well. I feel like I'm a bit underprepared and I should practice, but the concert is 7:30 at Glenbard East and it is free admission. If you can't make it there should be a livestream playing. I believe we are playing with the Glenbard Summer orchestra which should also be interesting.
Well I think that I made up for the missing week, as usual thanks for reading!
