Week 17- The Return
I want to start by apologizing for basically not doing anything all of December, even during break. I could've also posted something on New Years Day but I still wasn't really feeling it. I'm back now and I'll be sure to make a New Years Resolution to be better about posting updates. I also know I broke one of my rules posted on the first post but I'm still going to continue with this. I'll try and cover as much as I can remember from the start of Winter Break.
So the week of finals was interesting. I had all of my harder finals at first, and that means all my AP classes first as well. In chronological order it was AP French, AP English, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, then Honors Physics. The remaining two classes was lunch, gym, and orchestra. I feel like the finals difficulty wise were easier than the unit tests that are usually given to us, but they also covered more topics so it was harder that way. The first day of finals was pretty rough and the second day was better but still pretty hard. The third day was nothing to stress about. On the second day, my last final that day was my lunch period so I was able to leave school early. I biked to the fox valley mall with my friend and went to buy presents for my family. Afterwards, we went to the store by park to shop and got some pho and then returned home. On the last day, I went with another friend and I bought a gift for the secret santa I was in.
On the day after finals we went to the secret santa party, it was pretty fun and there was great food there as well. We all exchanged presents and then went downstairs to celebrate. My family decided to celebrate as early as possible since we knew I wasn't going to wake up early. So we decided to celebrate once it hit midnight. So we ate dinner and then we decided to play Mahjong and bet some money on it. I think I managed to go even at the end but my sister was up $24. For Christmas, I got some snacks, a wallet, new earbuds, and new sweatpants. Over Christmas we also start a Netflix subscription for one month and I finally got to watch squid game.
I didn't really do much until New Years arrived. I went to another party for that and I also played Mahjong there with friends as well. It was a relatively small party which was nice. We ate and drank and eventually we left when it was 2AM. I made my New Years resolution to sleep before 1AM on school days. When we left, one of the people that went worked at Crumbl and everyone ended up bringing back some Crumbl cookies back to their families since they had extras.
Everything else was pretty staple throughout winter break. I got to hang out with friends sometimes and go to a few parties. This weekend got me back in a school like schedule, I had a Science Olympiad competition and EYSO started again. This competition wasn't that good for me and none of my build events got qualified to go onto the next round. The written test I took wasn't that bad though, but there were still some things that me and my partner didn't know. A group of friends ended up starting a group order for Chipotle, but it didn't really end up that well. There weren't enough forks and went a bit overboard with some ingredients. A lot of the containers were also crushed which caused some of the sauces to leak and go onto the other containers. During the break, I started playing Binding of Isaac Rebirth and I played it there. I also spent a lot of time building a second Wright Stuff plane since there was nothing to do and the rules allowed two planes for the competition. EYSO went like normal, I ended up ordering a sweatshirt since there was a 2022 new years deal and I somehow got the second stand for the second violin section.
I have to hurry up and publish this because of the resolution, it's 12:58 and it's cutting it close. So sorry about not posting and I swear I'll try to do better.
