Week 12- Science Olympiad
Welcome to week 12. The weekend so far has been nice and I kind of lost track of time as I enjoyed the break and I didn't even really notice today was Sunday. It's a different perspective when you have to actively know what day it is for school and knowing when deadlines are, when you can kind of forget them for now. I'm a bit burnt out so I'm gonna keep this post a bit shorter, on Saturday I went to Science Olympiad so I'll talk about that.
Science Olympiad this year is remote from each school. I already listed the events I did before, but as a reminder it's Wright Stuff, Gravity Vehicle, and It's About Time. The first event I did was It's about Time, the test went well, it was a bit scuffed because we had to do the build section and the written test at the same time. It wasn't that bad, we managed to get most questions and we were off by seconds on the build portion. In the end, we turned it in a bit late, but it should be fine since the test proctor understood the situation. Next was Gravity Vehicle, we did pretty well considering we were on a time crunch by then. We ended up doing not bad and only being off by a few centimeters each time. Wright Stuff was a real time crunch and we ended up using a plane from two years ago. We didn't have enough time to actually submit everything so we turned it in 3 minutes late because we had to compile many videos and get a lot of pictures turned in very quickly. We didn't have enough space and it didn't fly as much as we would've liked it to. All in all, the experience was fun, it was mainly running up and downstairs getting my build event materials. Before I did It's About Time, there was a monopoly game going on, a Jackbox game, and a Valorant match as well. I can definitely say it was more laid back than a usual year, but it was still rough for build event people. The gym was taken by basketball games so we couldn't really record.
Well I said I would keep it short and I will. That's it. I'm dog sitting this week so you can expect that in next week's thing.
Thanks for reading this shorter thing,
-Charlie
