Week 10- Week Recap

Week 10, this is a pretty big milestone. This started off as a kind of whatever I'll do this, but to know some people read this keeps me going in getting these out. I always want to get one of these done during the week as well and have two in one week but I just never seem to be able to time or motivation to do it. The week was riddled with highs and lows and I could go through pretty much every day and list something that happened. In general, I generally felt pretty tired throughout the whole week, sometimes it feels like I've bitten off more than I can chew because I usually end up getting home late and then staying up late studying. I can say that this isn't good for studying or for waking up to go to school tomorrow either. Well I'll start talking about each day.

Monday- This was senior ditch day, but that didn't really affect me at all as a Junior. We played soccer in gym class and I popped my right ankle (important for tomorrow) and just walked it off after a period. I then went to math team and then headed to the library. I was feeling pretty good so I went to get some fresh air and walked home. It turns out that backpacks and distances longer than the school to the library isn't really a good idea, but it was still pretty nice to do it.

Tuesday- We placed soccer in gym again, but this time my ankle was popped again in the same spot and I suppose I wasn't fully recovered so it was way worse this time. I ended up going to the nurse and found out it was really swollen. I ended up getting an ice pack (duh) and went to Science Olympiad. Eventually it stopped hurting while I was building my event. I found the right process to build it, you need screws so you can adjust the angle of the planks the ball is sliding down and it requires a lot of trial and error. I think my first step should be finding a good way to release the ball since my fingers are a bit sticky naturally and it may affect the speed and the time if I release it the wrong way. After this I went to the library and couldn't bring myself to walk home afterwards.

Wednesday- This was the first day we started recording for prism small groups. Along with Thursday, we managed the finish the videos for one group and I plan to record for the second group next Monday hopefully. After school, I directly went home. Usually, I'll go to McDonalds and get something to eat while I wait to go back into the building for a club. But I didn't really see a point to going that day so I just went home. Afterwards I went to the WV Golf Party. It was really cool being there and it was nice seeing everyone again. We then started getting stuff handed out, and I ended up getting a Varsity Athletic Award, Sportsmanship Team Award, Academic All-Conference Award, a nice WV Golf shirt, and a nice hat with a WV Golf logo.

Thursday- After the party, I was pretty tired and I still had work to do so I ended up not getting that much sleep. I was really tired on Thursday and almost fell asleep in two different classes. I went to record a bit of a podcast after school regarding ILMEA and then went straight down to build Wright Stuff for Science Olympiad. It was nice working on it again, and it was pretty nice working on it with a partner as well. I solo built it the last two years and it was really nice having someone that can help you glue, spray, and hold together the parts.

Friday- I wish I could say something about this day because I wanted to go out and eat with friends, but I needed to rest up before I took the SAT the next day. I slept for a pretty long time, and then woke up, reviewed a bit, and then slept more.

Saturday- I woke up pretty early so I would be more awake for the SAT. I went through morning routines I normally wouldn't do. When I got to the SAT, it was vastly different than I remember. I remember a table in front checking your ticket and then you wait in the homeroom. But this time we had to wait for the proctors to show up and then had to wait for everyone to get checked in before we could go into our homerooms. This year was also different in that the test was SO MUCH HARDER than I remember it being before. This was a different experience in general and I didn't really like it that much. I hope that there's a big curve so my score is more salvageable.

Well that's what happened this week in a nutshell. I tried to get this week done earlier than last week. I really wanted to get the SAT in as well and I planned on maybe going to the school play but ended up not going, so that's why it's still kind of late... Sorry! Well I don't think there's anything else to say. This is kind of awkward... ok bye.

Thanks,

-Charlie
